About The Blake School

The Blake School is an independent, Montessori, co-educational school, incorporating preschool through grade eight.  Founded by Linnie Lunde Jordan in 1967, The Blake School is currently under the leadership of Joyce Hutson, director, and Alene Padgett, principal.  Both Mrs. Hutson and Mrs. Padgett have been a fundamental part of The Blake School since 1970.

Six of the school’s 14 teachers have been at the Blake School for more than 10 years, and, all combined, the school’s teaching staff has 252 years experience in education. The Blake School also employs specialists for music, Spanish, physical education, and art.
